MM: Laury, nice to meet you. so, where are you from?

LP: Miami, but I rep the Haitians all day everyday (laughs)

MM: Okay, that's cool. I know a lot of people who consider the islands to be "home," especially down here. How did you hear about MelloMondays? Who got you to come out here tonigh?
LP: My bestfriend, and I heard about it on facebook. We're here to celebrate her birthday because we didn't just want to go to the club.

MM: Was today your first time to MelloMondays?
LP: Yes, and I will be back.

MM: Will you be coming back as a spectator, or would you hit the stage?
LP: I write poetry, but it has been years - since high school. I was inspired by everyone tonight, so I might sign up for the open mic soon.

MM: That would be great! I hope you really go up, we'll be looking for you. What was your favorite part of tonight? Did you have any favorite performances?
LP: So far, my favorite has been Asia's poem about the 90's. It really brought me back. He's a good host.

MM: Is there anything you would like to see at MelloMondays? Anything you wish we brought here for you guys to enjoy?
LP: Well this is my first time, so I like it the way it is - and that's saying something because I have high standards. I'm bourgeouis! (laughs)

MM: Well, in that case, we really appreciate that. Let me ask you a few more personal/casual questions: What is your most meaningful tattoo?
LP: A ghetto cowgirl. Her name is "Thick'ems" since I'm slim. It's my alter-ego.

MM: Wow, that question was perfect for you. What would you say was the best vacation you've been on lately?
LP: I'm a model, so I go around the world for work. Recently I was in Asia - Hong Kong and the Phillipines, and I loved it.

MM: That's amazing, so you could really relate to and understand Asia's jokes tonight about the Phillipines, huh?
LP: Yep!

MM: Last one, since tonight's theme was erotic night, what was the best line you heard?
LP: When the female poet said "Use my juices like lubricant," we were all like "Ahhhhh!" (laughs)
