  (MM: MelloMondays, NJ: Norma J.)

 

MM: Hi, Norma, where are you from? What's your hometown?

NJ: I'm from Miami, but I live in Broward now

MM: So, how did you hear about MelloMondays? How long have you been coming?
NJ: I heard about it from a friend about 2-3 years ago, they liked it and suggested I check it out. I probably get out here about once a month

MM: Are you a poet or performer? Ever think you'll get on the mic?

NJ: No, no talents.

MM: Nothing at all?
NJ: Well, I do make-up but I don't think that counts (laughs)

MM: Any favorite performances tonight?

NJ: I always like Will da Real One, the feature poet tonight. I'm familiar with the poetry scene in South Florida, so I've seen some of the house poets, like Poetic Vibez, at other shows as well. I enjoyed them as well.

MM: I know it's your birthday today; I thought you were going to say THAT was your favorite part of tonight

NJ: Well, that too. I had the Mongolian M*****F***** drink. Oh my God, I had like three of them. They were great to celebrate a birthday. I liked having all my friends around, too

 

MM: You had a lot of people with you, too. Big group

NJ: Yeah, we had a lot of fun

MM: Ok, let me ask you a few random questions. What was your best birthday celebration?

NJ: Every year is different. I liked tonight; I didn't want to do the club thing and I liked the Spoken Word performances

MM: What? Nothing crazy? What about your 21st birthday?

NJ: I can't say what I did for my 21st! So, we'll just stick with tonight (laughs)

MM: How did you celebrate Valentine's Day this year? With anybody special?

NJ: I went to work...I'm not boo'ed up right now. I went to dinner with a friend, but that doesn't count

MM: Was this a female friend?

NJ: No, it was a guy

MM: Oh, mmm-hmm...

NJ: What?

MM: Nothing, just kidding! (laughs) Thanks so much, Norma! Great talking to you
