Weekly Rewind: 11/29/10 "Lovers and Cuffs" A Night of Erotic Poetry

This week we presented “Lover’s and Cuffs: A Night of Erotic Poetry.” We tried something new - 20 Women were given metal handcuffs and permission to place them on any gentleman they found worthy of their company. The women were letting their feelings be known, and we even saw a few men get cuffed TWICE!

It was packed, and saturated with casually dressed and decked-out onlookers. Over 10 poets blessed the mic with their raunchiest material. WEDR 99 Jamz DJ Felicia Monet was in attendance as well as Miami’s own DJ One Way and BET’s Comic View comedian Rayza. 

We kept the shot glasses filled all night with free samples of Chambord Vodka; presented by Lex Promotions. HBO’s Def Poet Asia played host and comedian and zipped through one liners as well as his own brand of “erotic” verses. DJ MIDWID blessed the crowd with soulful sounds in between poets as well as at the end of the show.

Principles of Pleasure showed up with a table containing enough sexual apparatuses to put the Pleasure Emporium to shame. Dildo’s, Vibrators, Motion Lotions, Blow-up dolls, and body ticklers were in abundance and for sale at the table and on display in the common areas. We even did a giveaway for a few lucky audience members!

The feature this week was Will Da Real One. The ladies ogled and lingered on his every word and some of the men whipped out their cell phones and jotted down a few lines to use later. All in all, the night went off without a hitch!
